From Tuesday 17 May, our traditional afternoon food distribution will resume every working day at 2.30 pm, no longer at Blaha Lujza Square, but at Teleki Square facing Dobozi Street.<\/p>\n
The first food distribution was preceded by a short opening ceremony. P\u00e9tern\u00e9 S\u00e1ntha, Deputy Mayor of J\u00f3zsefv\u00e1ros Municipality, P\u00e9tern\u00e9 Szilaj, spokesperson of our foundation, and Edina Rim\u00e1n, Deputy Mayor of J\u00f3zsefv\u00e1ros, were present. The opening ceremony was also attended by the leading representatives of the Budapest Public Space Inspectorate, Director Gy\u00f6rgy Pet\u0151, Public Space Director Zsolt Hajnal, and the Head of the Sewerage Works of Budapest, Ferenc Zimber, to whom the Foundation expressed its special thanks for their cooperation. J\u00f3zsefv\u00e1ros is one of Budapest's most needy districts, and the relocation of the food distribution service has relieved the burden on the district and one of the busiest areas of the capital.<\/p>\n
In their greetings, the parties stressed that the Municipality of J\u00f3zsefv\u00e1ros, the FKF and the Meals for Life programme are working together to find a solution to the situation. In her speech, P\u00e9tern\u00e9 S\u00e1ntha stressed that J\u00f3zsefv\u00e1ros has already done a lot for poor people and the homeless. P\u00e9tern\u00e9 Szilaj expressed the hope that the temporary location at Teleki Square could be replaced by a permanent and developed food distribution point in time. As a joint contribution of the Budapest Public Space Inspectorate and the Budapest Sewerage Works, waste collection containers and two mobile toilets for food distribution have been placed in a corner of the square, which can be locked with a key and are cleaned weekly.<\/p>\n
Due to the relocation, there is a slight drop in the number of beneficiaries, as expected from the preliminary surveys. Just over 300 portions were consumed on the square on the first day. Our Foundation will therefore temporarily continue its food distribution mission at Teleki Square in the coming period. We respectfully ask media representatives to report the relocation in any way possible to ensure that it reaches all those who have benefited from the service.<\/p>\n

Experience has also shown that the number of people in the queue has multiplied in the past year, including large families in difficulty, people in debt, pensioners in need, people who have lost their jobs for health reasons, redundancies, advanced age, etc.<\/p>\n
The lactovegetarian meals distributed are not only healthy treats that children can safely eat, they say, but also sacred, so called spiritual meals offered to God, which, in addition to nourishing the body, also serve to satisfy the soul. The believers who volunteer in the programme profess that to become a useful and constructive member of society, it is essential to have enough and healthy food every day. And one way to uplift the impoverished is to connect our most basic need, food, with God.
