We may easily have had one of the largest food donations of the year from the Food Bank, with a total of 2 163 kg of food.
This quantity will not remain in storage - over the coming days, it will be gradually distributed at our food distribution bases, where we provide hot meals and supplementary food to thousands of people every day.
What's in the cartons?
The consignment contains a variety of versatile, usable raw materials and complementary products:
- Canned maize - 544 kg
- Rama margarine - 250 kg (refrigerated)
- Vegetable cheese - 159,6 kg (refrigerated)
- Croissant - 384 kg
- Torma - 290,4 kg
- Lemonade drink powder - 128 kg
- Milka chocolate - 144,9 kg
- Dörmi sponge cake - 48,96 kg
- Cocoa bar - 48,6 kg
- Hunters chocolate - 120 kg
- Chewing gum - 44,94 kg
Total: 2 163 kg of food
Products that require refrigeration are delivered by separate logistics, using refrigerated trucks, so they can be distributed safely.
What does this mean in practice?
This donation is not just about numbers.
This will contribute to thousands of meals and food parcels distributed in Budapest and our rural locations.
The supplies we receive allow us to continue our work in a stable and predictable way, and to get help to those who need it most.
