A month ago, Szabina Hajdu, the mayor of Gadány—a small village in the Somogy Hills—contacted us. Her request was simple and heartfelt: Children’s Day was approaching, and there were 50 children living in the village—she wanted each of them to receive a gift package.
But he also had one important condition. „What if one family has three children and another has only one?” he asked. The answer was obvious to him: in that case, that family would receive three packages. Every child is equal; every child celebrates.
We organized the event from Budapest and set off for Gadány with 50 packages, working side by side with the teams from Budapest and Somogy. Each package contained cold cuts, sugar, flour, and rice—and to add a festive touch: Halava candy and Gauranga cookies.
Gadány is situated in a beautiful location, nestled among the hills of Somogy, but unfortunately, there are many people in need here as well. That is precisely why it was so heartwarming that on Children’s Day, every young resident of Gadány received a package containing a little something to bring them joy.
