In response to a request from an association in Nógrád, the Krishnas of Eger are helping more people in need within the framework of the Meals for Life programme. In the neighbouring county, every second kindergarten pupil is disadvantaged and the employment rate for 15-64 year olds remains the worst in the region.
The volunteers of the programme believe that in order to lift up society, the first step is to help the hungry. They feel it is their duty to help our fellow human beings in need, regardless of their political, ethnic or religious affiliation," they say in a statement sent to our editorial office.
200 children will be provided with a hot meal on 15 December in connection with the Christmas Charity Day at the Community Centre in Kisterenye. In a cross-county action undertaken by volunteers from the Egri Office of the Meals for Life Foundation, rich bean goulash, bread, hot tea and fruit will be distributed.
