Celebrities help with the Christmas food distribution - Krishna devotees prepare more than 6000 portions (csocsodalom.hu)

The Krishna Community of Believers in Hungary and its poverty alleviation programme, Meals for Life, will hold a special Christmas food distribution on Blaha Lujza Square from 24-26 December. Artists and athletes will support the exemplary work.

The Meals for Life Foundation moved to Teleki Square in May this year, at the request of the local government, but their festive action will be held in the usual place, in front of Corvin, where they will be waiting for the needy and compassionate volunteers. Last year, celebrities such as film star András Réz and Dr. László Domján, a mind control instructor, helped with the food distribution. This year, the tradition will be continued by András Laár, comedian, poet, actor, Péter Huzella, Kossuth Prize-winning composer, Krisztina Bombera, presenter, Iván Fischer, conductor, Mariann Falusi, presenter, singer of Pa-Dö-Dő, Ági Szalóki, singer, Tibor Selmeczi, comedian, Sándor Németh „Nyiba”, poet, musician, Olympian and Tibor Nagy, K-1 world champion. The celebrities' presence and diligent participation is intended to raise awareness of the importance of caring for each other and of small acts of kindness and concern in our own environment. 2011 is the European Year of Volunteering, and the organisers of the programme see this event as a fitting end to the year.
