With regard to organizing relief efforts, the church has already contacted the relevant government agencies and charitable organizations and is preparing to launch the initiative as the situation develops. At the request of the Embassy of the Republic of India in Hungary, it is also assisting in providing meals to Indian citizens who are to be evacuated from Ukraine through Hungary and returned to their home country. In addition to one traditional vegetarian hot meal a day, they are also provided with cold food that can be used for other meals. If necessary, they also receive pastoral care to help ensure their safe return home.
The “Food for Life” program run by local Krishna devotees living in Ukraine also plays a major role in helping those in need. In the destabilized eastern region of Ukraine, food distributions have been a daily occurrence since 2014, and they are even more urgently needed in the current situation.
In addition, local believers have organized peace meditations on several occasions and continue to pray for their fellow human beings and for a peaceful resolution to the situation as soon as possible.

As waves of refugees cross the Hungarian border fleeing Ukraine, ISKCON Hungary has begun to actively assist those displaced by the Ukrainian-Russian conflict. In addition to continuing its daily food distribution, the Hare Krishna Food for Life program is always ready to provide relief in disaster situations by feeding the large numbers of people arriving from affected areas.

To organize the catering operation, devotees have contacted the relevant government agencies and other charities and are preparing to begin distributing food when the events call for it. At the request of the Embassy of the Republic of India, devotees are also helping to provide meals for Indian citizens who are being evacuated from Ukraine to India via Hungary. In addition to receiving a warm meal prepared in the traditional vegetarian style, they will also receive a food package to help them get through the day. Devotees will also provide spiritual assistance if needed, helping them return home in good mental and physical health.

Hungarian devotees also organize peace meditations and pray continuously for their fellow human beings and for a peaceful resolution to the current situation as soon as possible.
