On 15 December, we will organise a cultural afternoon in Budapest for 60 residents of a children's home run by the Municipality of Budapest, including food and toys.
On 17 December, we will be offering 500 hot meals and a generous food parcel to the families recommended by the Family Support Centre in Óbuda. We know of many families where, without this donation, the festive table would unfortunately be empty.
In the capital, the festivities continue on 24-25-26 December on Blaha Lujza Square. On each of the three days, 1200 portions of hot food, tea, Indian sweets and a rich food parcel will be distributed to everyone, along with several bags of warm clothes and children's toys. Volunteering information below.
The nationwide Love Feast takes place not only in the capital, but as in previous years in several counties, in a total of nearly 20 locations at different times, serving more than 6,000 meals. The series of programmes will be held in Debrecen, Eger, Pécs, Miskolc, Kaposvár and other smaller towns.
Somogy county:
On 23 December in Somogyvámos, 700 portions of Indian food and sweets will be distributed to the villagers. All residents will receive the food in warm boxes delivered to their homes.
Between the two holidays, 130 gift packs of flour, rice, sugar, oil, oranges and Christmas cakes will be distributed to the pensioners of the village.
In Kaposvár, 80 families in need, designated by the local family support centre, will receive a food parcel on 23 December to celebrate the holidays. Each family will also receive a book to accompany their food parcel.
In Marcali, our local volunteers will prepare food parcels and reading material for 50 families in need. The aid will go to families who are also registered as needy by the Mayor's Office.
Hajdú Bihor county:
On 25 December, between 12 and 14 pm, our volunteers will welcome 150 people to the courtyard of the Govinda Cultural Centre at Magyari u. 2. in Debrecen. The lunch, consisting of bean goulash, bread, halava and hot tea, will be served mainly to the needy people delegated by the local child protection institution, the family support service and SZETA.
Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén county:
In Miskolc, on the weekend before Christmas, on 18 December, the Red Cross and the Maltese Relief Service will be hosting nearly 200 people in need on Europe Square. A vegetarian menu and several bags of warm clothes will be served at 12 noon.
Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok county:
In Szolnok, the county's capital, this year we are organising a food distribution for the disadvantaged residents of the homeless shelter run by the Human Services Centre at the end of December.
Heves county:
The residents of the Krishna Church in Eger will be holding a Christmas gift-giving event from noon on 26 December, providing support for 104 people. Children from disadvantaged families will receive sweets and fruit, while adults will receive flour, sugar and oil from our volunteers.
Baranya county:
On 17 December, in Pécs, in cooperation with the Quality of Life Development Institute of the Municipality, young adults with disabilities or limited mobility, as well as middle-aged people, will receive bean goulash, fish soup, bread and fruit from our organisation.
Csongrád county:
Our volunteers in Szeged will also organise a Christmas relief action on 23 December, where they will provide a hot lunch to nearly 100 local people in need, in partnership with the Maltese Relief Service.
Békés county:
In the county town, we will be hosting people staying in the local day shelter for the homeless with a hot meal, homemade bread and tea between the two holidays. There are fewer relief efforts at this time of year, so it's good to be cared for.
Bács-Kiskun county:
In the city of Kecskemét, on the Sunday before and after Christmas - as they do all year round - 50 local people who have difficulty feeding themselves will be helped by the delivery of hot meals to their homes.
You share your donation!
Giving is an expression of love. It is joyful to give or receive any small gift because it brings people together. We encourage you, if you wish to give, to distribute your donation yourself during these days, so that you can make personal contact with other people in difficulty and develop an honest, helpful communication between you, through all difficulties. Believe me, it's worth it! Call us at 30/243-1486!
