Need is not selective

Vour egalitarian food for the poor programme, which runs hot kitchens provides comprehensive food and social assistance to people in need. We place particular emphasis on meeting the growing needs of today, unfortunately, not only the homeless, most of whom sleep in hostels, but also those who are in trouble because of economic difficulties families, individuals, elderly and large families also need help. We are here for them too.

We provide a hot lunch, bread, drinks, fruit, vegetables, pastries, occasional sweets and other complementary food.

We support early savings for families and individuals in need, and for people in debt, elderly people and large families, we offer them the opportunity to cover other expenses such as overheads, medicine and loan repayments. This will prevent them from falling further into debt and losing their housing.

This is how we help: 1 million hot meals and over 200 tonnes of non-perishable food every year

In Budapest and in the countryside

Daily assistance across the country

In addition to our operations in the capital, our mission is expanding its activities nationwide to reach as many people in need as possible.

Budapest Food is provided daily at 5 locations in the district, as well as to 26 buildings of the Budapest Methodist Social Centre and Institutions (BMSZKI) six days a week.

In the rural branches of the mission we organise regular food distribution, with hot meals prepared in our local kitchens. Egerben, Somogy county every weekday, In Debrecen and on Sundays we welcome those in need.

Thanks to a growing volunteer presence our charitable activities are becoming more and more common in several cities. In Szeged, the distribution of crisis packages is an everyday occurrence, while in Békéscsaba, a family day with food stamps is a regular event. These activities are carried out by the Food for Life Public Benefit Foundation. Read more here:

We also support children

Special food distributions and festive Love Feasts

In addition to regular day-to-day assistance, we pay special attention to the holidays, so that little ones in difficulty can have a decent Christmas.

The Feast of Love event series aims to raise awareness of the importance of tolerance and compassion by offering hope to more than 1,000 people a day with food gift packs. We want to build social solidarity to help our fellow human beings in a selfless way.

For years, we have been planning not only for the holidays, but also We are running a series of food parcel distribution events from December to January.

Our organisation is gradually expanding its children's programmes, with food distributions on Children's Day and Student Day, because the physical and mental health of the next generation is based on the father of the father.

We provide a daily hot lunch to young people with multiple disadvantages in the bush homes and the Open Door Foundation, as they need more meals to develop.

Tour the country with crisis packages

Like a loaf of bread

Our initiative, which has been on hiatus for years, is back this year, with. we support communities in disadvantaged small villages with sustainable with food parcels.

In cooperation with local family support services and municipalities, we deliver the parcels directly to those in need in pre-agreed quantities at the locations they provide.

The packs contain around 11-12 good quality durable food items, enough to feed a person or family for days.
