Pontosan ennyi kg tartós élelmiszert gyűjtöttünk a hétvégén a Magyar Élelmiszerbank Egyesület országos akciójában az Ételt az Életért önkénteseivel. Mi, az Ételt az Életért csak egy kis morzsa voltunk a teljes egészhez képest. Országosan 213 áruházban 138 962 kg !!! élelmiszert gyűjtöttek az akció résztvevői.

These 139 metric tons mean that 129 kg of food arrived every minute. Most of it was flour, pasta, canned goods, pasta, and pasta sauce, but there were also some unique delicacies. The food collected in this way will primarily be used locally; that is, aid packages—more than 27,000 of them!—will be prepared everywhere using locally collected ingredients. The 5-kilogram packages will go to those most in need. Residents of children’s homes, people in elder care, large families, recipients of family support services, and the homeless
and people with disabilities will benefit from it.

However, the many generous donations we receive from you are vital to our work, as they help make life better for those in need. Non-perishable foods and cooking ingredients—that’s exactly what every family in need requires! And the Food Bank’s spring campaign—with the code 46%—was even more successful than it was this time last year—what an inspiring and wonderful improvement! Thank you so much!
