As a registered foundation, we’ve been given the opportunity to help even more people in need through your 1% donation. Our foundation has been fighting hunger for more than 30 years, and we now distribute one million servings of hot meals annually to those in need in Hungary. We operate soup kitchens at our four regional centers, where we prepare fresh, nutritious vegetarian meals every day for families in need, seniors on small pensions, and our fellow citizens who find themselves in difficult circumstances.
Krishna Food Distribution – We cook with all our heart and soul so that no one goes hungry
The food distribution program run by the Krishna devotees is one of Hungary’s largest charitable food programs, which has been supporting those in need for decades. A plate of hot food is not only nourishing, but also offers hope and compassion to those who cannot even be sure of their next meal.
Why is food distribution by the Krishna movement important?
- Every day, we distribute thousands of servings of fresh, vegetarian meals across the country
- We organize special food distribution events, such as the famous "Feast of Love" series during the Christmas season
- We provide ongoing assistance throughout the year, not just during the holidays
- We also provide groceries and food packages to families
Every day, we work to prepare fresh, hot, and nutritious vegetarian meals, using a variety of recipes to offer not only filling but also delicious dishes to those in need. Our strictly vegetarian meals are made from carefully selected ingredients and are available to anyone who needs them.
Like a "Bite of Bread" program—we provide food where it's needed most
Although our permanent soup kitchens provide tremendous assistance, they are still insufficient to meet the nation’s needs. People living in many towns and villages across Hungary, as well as in outlying areas, do not have access to a hot meal every day.
Every day we receive requests for help from all over the country. Families, seniors, and single people turn to us because they have heard about our work, and they desperately ask for help—both for themselves and on behalf of others in need.
How can we help?
