In Békéscsaba, Children's Day isn't just in May!

Last Saturday in Békéscsaba, at the Csabagyöngye Cultural Center, we organized a heartwarming children’s event where families in need received food packages, and we treated the children attending the event to slices of pizza and a plate of treats. The fun-filled afternoon was enlivened by balloon twisting, face painting, storytelling, and group singing of Hare Krishna. Several children are regular participants in these charity afternoons.

We spoke with a local boy named Milán, who is 10 years old and arrived with his dad and little sister—this is his seventh time here.

“I really love coming here, and I’m so grateful to the people who run this place—it’s so kind of them because the kids can keep themselves busy here and get something to eat. That’s really kind of them. What I like best is the food distribution and all the stories. I have a lot of friends here who I came with” (Milán)

In Békéscsaba, volunteers from our foundation have been organizing food drive collections every three months for the past six years to support local people in need.  On October 26, we distributed 120 food packages to 170 people, including 70 children. Some of the packages were also delivered to local family support organizations.

Gabriella Tóth, a local volunteer and the event’s organizer, told us that they’re planning another fun-filled day like this during the holiday season. She also mentioned that Csabagyöngye has been providing the venue for the event free of charge for years, for which she is infinitely grateful.

Thank you to everyone who helped!

We’d like to let you know that you, too, can join our supporters! Our holiday charity meal program will soon begin in Budapest and several towns across the country, where we hope to serve 10,000 people in need. Catering to such a large number of guests is no small task, which is why these special food distributions will take place over several days. That is why we are starting our fundraising campaign early, so that together we can achieve our goal and bring hope to so many people in need this holiday season.

It doesn't matter whether you give a little or a lot—even the smallest amount counts! Please help us, and thank you for your donation!
