In Eger, our local volunteers distribute 750 meals every weekday to those in need. However, this number isn’t just a figure—it involves significant logistics, daily organization, and transportation tasks. In addition to the main distribution site in Eger, meals are delivered to Egerszala, Béketelep, to the temporary shelter for local families and a retirement home, to the Lajosváros group, and even to Mezőkövesd, delivering the lunches and supplementary items they receive. Food distribution has been taking place in Eger since 1999, and for the past 14 years, the program has run five days a week. Most recently, they also put together packages of non-perishable food items to go with the hot lunch. Each package contained nine different types of non-perishable food items, much to the delight of those who came to receive them. Our guests can use all of these ingredients to cook for themselves at home.

We don’t stop even in the summer—our food distributions in rural areas, our special distributions, and, of course, our daily distributions continue uninterrupted, because we’re not just hungry at Christmas, but every day of the year. <3 You can support our mission with your donations all year round.
