This weekend—Friday, Saturday, and Sunday—we’re holding our last major non-perishable food drive of the year in collaboration with the Hungarian Food Bank.
In Budapest, we will be accepting donations on behalf of the Food Bank at the Aldi on Huszti Street and the Tesco on Bécsi Street, and at the Auchan in Dunakeszi.
Collection hours: Mon: 3:00 p.m.–7:00 p.m., Sat: 8:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m., Sun: 8:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.
Our locations outside Budapest: Eger – Tesco, Szeged – Aldi (3 Móravárosi Boulevard)

The largest food drive of the year, organized by the Hungarian Food Bank Association, will take place November 15–17 at 365 stores nationwide. The Food Bank’s goal is to collect even more donations this year to support families and individuals in need, for whom the holidays are a particularly difficult time.
Why Is Giving Important?
Rising everyday food prices and the significant expenses of the winter months put low-income households in a particularly difficult situation. The Food Bank’s goal is to assemble several thousand 5-kilogram food packages during the drive, which will be distributed to those in need during the holidays and in January. The donations will benefit the elderly, large families, residents of children’s homes, people with disabilities, and those living in the country’s poorest communities.
How can we help?
Shoppers can help by donating non-perishable food items such as canned goods, rice, pasta, cooking oil, or sweets. Tesco is supporting the Food Bank’s food rescue program with 20% of the value of the donations, and in some stores, pre-packaged kits are available for purchase that provide dinner for a family of four.
