As part of the „Like a Bite of Bread” program, we brought hope and hot meals to two more communities.
On Friday, we delivered our packages of non-perishable food to Mezőszemere and Szihalom, and we also served potato stew and strawberry halva. With every bowl we handed out, we encountered a new story. The local mayors personally thanked us and look forward to seeing us again.
In Szihalmon, it was particularly touching to see how many people came to the food distribution—including elderly women and men, most of whom were over 80—to pick up their packages in person. It was surprising to see elderly people riding bicycles, which at first glance might suggest an active, athletic lifestyle—but from our conversations, it became clear that this was more a sign of independence born of necessity. Most of them live alone on a very small pension, and their mobility is often driven by the struggle to survive.
On Sunday in Békéscsaba, our volunteers once again organized a family morning at Csabagyöngye, featuring activities for children, where every participant received a package of non-perishable food items. For years, these events have been true Children’s Days filled with heartwarming moments.
We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped in any way—whether through a donation, by participating, or simply with words of encouragement!
One of our foundation’s most important missions is to bring the Krishna food distribution to places where those in need rarely receive help. In rural villages, we are often the only ones who make it there.
Support us so we can reach even more places!
