We held our first major, high-profile food distribution event in Budapest over the weekend. On Saturday, we welcomed residents of Erzsébetváros with holiday food packages, and we were joined by Balázs Szücs, the district’s deputy mayor for social affairs. The 7th District is another area of the capital where we provide daily food distribution to those in need, but as the holidays approach, it’s the generous, non-perishable food packages that families long for, because with these, they can cook together at home for the holidays—and this truly brings families closer together. It gives them the feeling that, even if just for a few days, everything is finally okay. The package contained not only ingredients for cooking but also snacks and treats, which the children—a strikingly large number of whom were seen in line this year—immediately began to devour. 🙂
This weekend, we’ll be holding special food distributions in Eger and then in Debrecen. At both distribution sites, we’re expecting mainly guests who are already registered in the region, but we’re also preparing plenty of additional surprises. From December 24–26, we’ll be welcoming guests at Népliget with 1,000 meal packages and a festive lunch each day, so that everyone can enjoy a dignified, bountiful, and joyful Christmas. Together. Christmas Feast of Love 2023—this is how we love.
