About once every 2–3 months, there’s a special food drive in town, but the Christmas event is a real favorite among families. This year, Santa Claus visited us, and the children sang and played with him.
There was face painting, treats on the buffet table, and opportunities to make music together and learn about Indian instruments. The organizers and volunteers in Békéscsaba supported 220 residents, 148 of whom were children. Food for Life is committed to creating a joyful, cheerful, and truly festive atmosphere for everyone.
Children cannot grow up or live their entire lives in the shadow of deprivation. A healthy, well-rounded childhood—including neurological development—requires these experiences, activities, music, shared play, and, last but not least, the development of a sense of security. The families were also able to take home a very generous package of non-perishable food items, which they can use to cook at home during the Advent season.
