Throughout the year, the Krishna Community of Believers in Hungary distributes food to the needy at Teleki Square in District VIII. According to Pastor Csilla Szilaj Péterné, the composition of the queue, which snakes for hundreds of metres, has changed a lot in the last year. Besides the homeless, there are many large families, as well as many young parents and pensioners. It is mostly a way for the needy to save money.
„The winter period is critical for everyone, but especially for those who live on, for example, 22 800 forints a month. That is why we are trying to help outside the capital. We usually cook high-protein meals such as stews, vegetable soup, beans or cabbage,” Péterné Szilaj told Hír24.
