The Food for Life Foundation is holding a large-scale food distribution on March 28, 2016—Easter Monday—at 11:00 a.m. at Blaha Lujza Square. What makes this event special is that students from the Bhaktivedanta College of Theology will also be participating in the distribution.

We hold our first large-scale, festive food distribution of the year at Easter. This is a very important event, as during these special food distributions we are able to provide meals for hundreds of people in a single morning. On this occasion as well, we will be providing 1,600 meals and several metric tons of non-perishable food to those in need.
According to the plans, twenty different types of food (graham flour, sugar, sweets, canned goods, kefir, cream cheese, margarine, dates, rice, apples, bananas, etc.) and delicious hot meals will be distributed during the Easter food drive.

Our holiday initiatives are always very popular, as we deliberately schedule them during school breaks or long weekends, when food supplies for those in need—or meals for children in families—are often insufficient. Most families report that both the hot meals and the non-perishable food packages are a huge help to them, since around holiday weekends—during the fall, winter, and spring breaks, children may go without school meals for as long as 7–10 days.
Many students from the Bhaktivedanta College of Theology are also participating as volunteers in the Easter food distribution. The institution, located in Óbuda, offers state-accredited training in the fields of Vaishnava yoga and theology. Social sensitivity and spiritual care are integral parts of Vaishnava philosophy, manifested in acts of service to our fellow human beings. Providing meals to the poor is a great opportunity for this, so by joining this noble initiative, students can put the spirit of their studies into practice.

Of course, those in need can count on our support on the rest of the year as well, since our foundation distributes hot meals during lunchtime Monday through Friday at four locations in the capital and at its regional offices, and at some locations, Tuesday through Saturday.
