The Debrecen team of “Food for Life” organized a fantastic Christmas event in the courtyard of the local Govinda restaurant and Krishna center. The volunteers serve hot lunches every Sunday throughout the year. Whether the weather is nice or freezing, they never stop—Family Sunday is all about bringing joy to those in need.

However, ahead of the holidays, families have now received a more substantial food package so that those who otherwise wouldn’t be able to do so can bake and cook at home and prepare for the holidays. This brings families together and makes Christmas a meaningful and hopeful time.

Along with a delicious, hot lunch, 110 packages of non-perishable food were distributed to the new arrivals; these included canned goods, mustard, snacks, margarine, rice, yellow peas, sweet cookies, milk, nut substitute, candy, and vitamin-enriched chocolate.
