Priority Food Distribution in Óbuda

On January 20, Óbuda was one of the final stops on our “Meal of Love” tour. The Budapest headquarters of Food for Life is located in District 3, and we always consider it very important to set an example by helping those in need right here in our own neighborhood, in our immediate surroundings. We also have two distribution points in Óbuda on weekdays, in Békásmegyer and Kaszásdűlő. Every weekday at noon, we serve a hot lunch to residents in need. However, this special initiative also involved distributing non-perishable food packages to 500 families. With these generous food packages, many people can cook meals for days—or even weeks, with just a few fresh additions. A total of 12 different items were included in the packages, among them treats such as cookies, ketchup, dates, beets, and soft drinks, as well as useful cooking staples like rice and wheat flour.
Don’t forget that you can also support our work by using the tax code 2×1%, or you can donate directly on our website. Thank you for the many donations, the non-perishable food items collected in the district, and the local government’s kind support; Mayor Dr. László Kiss once again participated in the event in person; he always supports our work by helping to distribute hot meals and chatting with our guests. Óbuda will always be close to our hearts—we'll be back soon!
We'll continue our featured promotions throughout the spring! Together, we can achieve even more! 🙂
