On November 4, we held a large-scale event in Eger to supplement our daily food distributions. Greek yogurts received from the Hungarian Food Bank Association—which are a high-quality source of protein — 600 croissants, and 2 metric tons of potatoes donated by the Óbuda-Békásmegyer Municipal Government were distributed on site to accompany the hot lunch. Needless to say, this was a great joy for the families during this cold, critical time marked by high utility bills.

Our Advent campaigns are beginning. Help is needed in almost every village and town. We, too, are merely an instrument in God’s providence, but we strive to do everything in our power for our fellow human beings in need. This Christmas will be different from previous ones for many families. Prices have skyrocketed so much that most people are tightening their belts and cutting back on spending. We, however, believe in that beautiful old Hungarian saying: “Where there’s enough for two, there’s enough for three…” If we give just a little more of ourselves to those around us—supporting the less fortunate to the best of our ability—and work together, everyone can get through this difficult time.
