Our foundation once again supported summer camps for children in need this summer. Children from the Kartal and Hatvan areas of Pest County spent a week of their summer on the shores of Lake Balaton.

Every year, our organization contributes to summer camps for underprivileged children. This year, in response to a request from representatives of the Nógrád County Child Welfare Institution, we supported summer camps for children from the Kartal and Hatvan areas in Pest County. Our contribution covered the portion of the children’s meals that their parents could no longer afford. For the one-week program held during the last weeks of August, we provided 500 units of fruit juice, cocoa-flavored wafers, various chocolate products, gluten-free extruded bread, and granola bars.

A group of teachers has been organizing this exemplary initiative on a volunteer basis for eight years now. They bring together a group of disadvantaged children from the region and take them on a trip to Lake Balaton, where they treat them to a variety of fun activities. We find it very inspiring that the opportunity to participate is given to children who meet the previously announced academic and behavioral requirements; many of them have been members of the group for years. Due to their families’ low incomes, these children cannot afford a vacation and spend their summer break at home; and, according to the teachers, it is a great source of inspiration for them to be able to take part in such a wonderful summer adventure—even year after year—as a result of their own efforts.

The camp residents spent a week together filled with exciting and colorful activities. Both the organizers and the children were very pleased to receive our food donations.
