Back on the Blaha until the end of March

Our daily public food distribution moved again from Teleki Square to Blaha Lujza Square on 14 January for the winter crisis. Until 31 March, the service will be available every working day from 12 noon near Corvin.

Winter is one of the hardest times of the year to survive, so we believe it's important to do our bit to care for our most vulnerable. The winter crisis period is a time of heightened risk for the population, but especially for those who either have no housing at all, or who, although they have their own household, have low resources or have their home unheated or poorly heated due to utility services being cut off, and are unable to cook for themselves. In such cases, a hot meal once a day, along with other services, can be a virtual lifesaver, not only because of the fresh food, hot tea and vitamin-rich fruit itself, but also because it encourages people to get out and about, to walk, to travel - to exercise.

Back on the Blaha until the end of March

The site was chosen to be as easily and quickly accessible by public transport as possible, and because of its size, it can accommodate 500 people a day.
In addition to stateless people, we have a number of clients who, because of overheads or debts, do not have enough money to support themselves and their families, so they mostly take money from food. So by providing meals, we can offer tangible, essential help to anyone who makes it through the queue. There are no other conditions for eligibility.

We welcome everyone!
