The food distribution in Blaha Lujza Square moves again

Starting Tuesday, October 29, the public food distribution will once again move from Blaha Lujza Square to nearby Teleki László Square. The time will remain the same; it will continue to begin at 12:00 p.m. on every workday.

This is not the first time the community kitchen has moved since 2010. The first time a change of location became necessary was when the Social Reconciliation Program was introduced. On that occasion, the renovation of the area of the square we were using prompted us to find a new location for the service. Later, however, since this space proved to be the most suitable for this activity, the soup kitchen moved back to the corner of Blaha Lujza Square—on Márkus Emília Street. During this period, several organizations also distributed food at the same location.

On October 29, renovation work will begin on this small street near Corvin, so the 8th District Municipal Government is temporarily providing Teleki László Square to ensure the uninterrupted operation of services. On a temporary basis, for the time being The area of Teleki Square facing Dobozi Street may be used for food distribution until January 15, 2014; distribution will continue to take place Monday through Friday at the usual time, starting at 12:00 p.m.

Our three-day Christmas food and package distribution will take place, as usual, at Blaha Lujza Square. We will provide more details about this at a later date.

If you know anyone in your circle who used to visit our facility at Blaha Lujza Square from time to time, please let them know about this sudden change. Thank you!
