Food Distribution and Children's Programs in Békéscsaba

We held another food distribution event in Békéscsaba this weekend. Our local volunteers are always super active and organize fantastic children’s activities to go along with the treats; this time, the little ones enjoyed take-home toys, face painting, balloon twisting, and a musical program. There isn’t a single family that doesn’t love this event!
This time, our volunteers put together 140 packages, each containing 11 different types of non-perishable food items. They were able to help a total of 212 people this way, 137 of whom were children. This is a very sad number, but the experience is truly uplifting, as they can all go home with full bellies and in good spirits.
In addition to the meal packages, families received apples, and the children received pizza, bananas, and soft drinks. The menu featured lentil stew and darahalava—an Indian vegan semolina pudding and a perennial favorite—which has become an indispensable part of every meal distribution.
The food distribution was made possible by funds from our national food distribution organization and generous donations from local donors. Thank you to the talented photographer for the photos, who captured these joyful moments.
