It's not just the homeless who are starving - www.magyarhirlap.hu

Children stood in the cold, in a queue of hundreds of metres snaking from Blaha Lujza Square past the Holy Fox Chapel, waiting for food to be distributed. Never before have so many non-homeless, large-family, pensioner poor people queued up for the Christmas food distribution in the capital's Blaha Lujza Square as they did yesterday. The queue snaked for hundreds of metres from the former Corvin department store to the St. Rokus Chapel. The Szilágyi family members were also freezing in the seemingly endless queue. They were happy on Christmas Eve that they were able to pay the gas bill of their apartment in the 7th district with the help of their family, so that grandmother could prepare the fish soup in the warmth.
