Thanks to the generosity of several local business owners, 17 families facing hardship in the city of Győr received our support.

Thanks to an initiative by a Győr-based entrepreneur, we were able to bring smiles to the faces of 17 families in need in Győr on August 22. Each family received a 13-kg package of non-perishable food items from our volunteers. The packages contained flour, rice, sugar, oil, pasta, potatoes, apples, cornflakes, chocolate, and cookies.

Of course, it takes more than just a single entrepreneur’s donation to carry out an initiative like this. Many people contributed to the program’s success, and volunteers from our foundation took on the task of coordinating it. For example, the employees at one of the local SPAR stores were very kind in helping to pack, store, and load the selected goods. Since we do not yet have a separate facility or delivery vehicle in Győr, we had to have the food items for the packages transported by taxi. The taxi driver also contributed to the charity effort by charging a discounted fare for the trip. The Kölyökvár Skills Development Playhouse provided us with the space needed for storage and assembling the packages, as well as a gym suitable for distribution.

The city’s public health nurse service assisted us in identifying the families with children most in need, and we also reached out to several families who had recently sought assistance from our organization.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank our volunteer, Zsuzsanna Kollár, and the supporters mentioned above for their wonderful work and kind assistance, which made it possible for us to support families in need in Győr as well.
