Our one-month Christmas donation drive began on October 16, World Food Day. We collected nearly 600 kg of food donations during this period, which will be a great help for our upcoming large-scale food distribution. We are grateful to all of our kind supporters.

The campaign also included two in-store donation drives. At the end of October, the at the Metro store in Pécs, and on November 9, the TESCO in BudaörsOur volunteers were waiting for shoppers at the store. They informed customers that by purchasing one or even a few kilograms of non-perishable food items, they too could contribute to our upcoming Christmas food drive. Many kind shoppers committed to the cause and added items to their shopping carts that they were happy to pay for—not for themselves, but for a person in need whom they did not know. These items filled 7 large shopping carts in Budaörs and 4 in Pécs.

At the same time, we were also accepting donations at our Budapest location, where a large amount of food donations gradually accumulated day by day. Both companies and individuals brought in smaller or larger quantities of goods, and during our in-person meetings, the donors themselves were able to witness the large volumes we handle—not only during the Christmas holidays but also as part of our regular daily work.

In total, more than 200 kg of flour and sugar, as well as 50 kg each of rice and pasta, were collected as a result of the campaign. In addition, some chocolate, a few cartons of cooking oil, and other basic food items also found their way into our warehouse. It was an eye-opening experience for all participants to see how even many small donations can achieve great things through a little teamwork. Even our volunteers, who were a bit hesitant at first during the supermarket collection, were able to experience the great sense of confidence and strength that comes from standing up for and representing a good cause.

We intend to continue organizing similar events in the future to provide our volunteers—and anyone else—with the opportunity to participate in person in our large-scale initiative, whether through small or larger contributions, efforts, or good intentions. We would like to thank all of our volunteers for joining us, and we thank our donors for their care, energy, and financial contributions—which we strive to repay by ensuring their support goes to the right places.
