The Hungarian Krishna Community of Believers (MKTHK) has repeatedly commented that images and videos of its poverty alleviation programme are being used by individuals and organisations for political purposes, messaging or incitement.
MKTHK and the Food for Life Mission are independent of political life and parties and do not participate in such events, campaigns or debates.
Our Church distances itself from any linking of its activities and political expressions and asks all organisations and citizens of good conscience to refrain from doing so in the future.
The members of the MKTHK consider it essential to emphasize that all living beings are spiritually equal and that in their eternal, natural state all souls are servants of God, working together in perfect harmony. However, in the material world, by its very nature, there are also various conflicts and disagreements. From this state of confusion, living beings can only emerge by following God's instructions to live a pious, non-violent, renounced, pure, sincere life. The Krishna Conscious Believers wish to represent these teachings of Lord Krishna in their lives and actions today. The devotees wish to continue their work for society unhindered, keeping an equal distance from political forces.
