The circumstances are far from ideal, but Turkish citizens in the earthquake-stricken Hatay province in Turkey welcome all assistance with great love and gratitude. Hungarian food distributors continue to be responsible for cooking, while the Turkish organization “Food for Life” is responsible for distributing hot meals.

Today’s menu featured vegetarian paprika potatoes—a dish with authentic Hungarian flavors that turned out exceptionally delicious; the guests really loved it. 🙂 Every day, our food distributors serve more than 1,000 meals to those in need, ensuring they at least have access to a little fresh, hot food. They serve feta cheese and olives alongside baked goods, rounding out the meal.

Since outbreaks of infection have occurred in the region, unfortunately even well water cannot be used for cooking; everything must be done using bottled water brought from Istanbul, and this is also the source of the water needed for cooking. The first team will remain on the mission until the end of the week and is expected to return home from Turkey early next week.

Food for Life is a humanitarian organization run by followers of Krishna, whose primary mission is to distribute hot meals and, through this, to assist and uplift society in times of need.
