Yesterday brought truly sad events to the lives of Food for Life and the devotees of Krishna—Food for Life Global. In the Donbas region, in the town of Alchevsk, rockets struck the building housing the local Food for Life food distribution mission. Local Krishna devotees, who were volunteers for the program, had just returned from a food distribution event when a HIMARS rocket struck the kitchen, burying the devotees beneath the rubble. Krishna-tattva Prabhu and Madana-Gopala Prabhu were killed instantly. Arjuna Prabhu was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
Despite the armed conflict that has been ongoing since 2014, believers in the region have been distributing 1,000 hot meals a day to those in need. They were able to face any danger; their courage and dedication, their faith and determination to help others, are truly heartwarming.
We humbly ask that, if you are reading this, you pray for our fellow members and volunteers—who are role models and heroes to us as well—and that we pray together for Arjuna Prabhu’s recovery.
Hare Krishna!
