In early August, we visited the towns of Szentdomonokos and Pétervására. From time to time, the „Like a Bite of Bread” program visits small rural communities where a significant portion of the residents live in very difficult circumstances, at or sometimes below the subsistence level. Our guests always welcome our gifts—in the form of food packages—with great warmth.
This time, we helped 150 families. The packages contained rice, pasta, margarine, long-life milk, granola bars, our childhood favorite—Sport Bars—and Detki cookies. The recipients were very happy to receive both the treats and the non-perishable staples.
Our initiatives aren't stopping; we'll be continuing them soon by organizing new aid programs.
Starting Monday, August 15, our food distributions in Budapest will continue without interruption!
