Charity Saturday - we helped in two cities at once

Szeged - Anna's well: 250 hot meals, 200 packages, lots of hearts

The action in Szeged was again hosted by Anna's Well.We distributed 250 portions of hot food and 250 portions of fish, and 200 durable food packages to the needy. Each package contained 14 different products:

pasta, sugar (1 kg), flour (1 kg), rice, tinned rice, biscuits, large and small biscuits, large chocolate bars, small chocolate bars, mixed drinks and drink powders (milk, cocoa, soft drinks, syrup, tea), Pufi, hot food, fish soup, bananas.

But as well as food, clothes also found a home on this day. The charity centre in Asotthalom offered brand new clothes and shoes with original labels - all sold out. Special thanks also go to the citizens of Szeged who personally brought donations of clothes to the Anna-well.

This time the volunteer team was strengthened by young students - students from Radnóti, Déri and Kőrösy high schools worked shoulder to shoulder with more experienced helpers. The presence and help of the Szeged Citizen Guards was also a great support in the organisation and running of the event.

Békéscsaba - Families, children, devotees and 100 parcels

In Békéscsaba, 100 packs were distributed, each containing 13 different products. In total, we were able to provide 150 people - including many children - with a durable food parcel, vegetarian hot meals and fruit.

The special atmosphere of the distribution was created by Krishna devotees from Szolnok and Békéscsaba: they sang bhajans to the guests, and the children sang and danced. It was a true community celebration, where the joy of helping others and the spiritual recharging were intertwined. Indeed, Békéscsaba now also had an abundance of young volunteers.

As with every handout, something happened that touches the heart again and again. A story, a life situation, reminds us how lucky we are to have warmth, food and community. And how important it is that those who don't have it are not alone.

Thanks to all

This action could not have been possible without your help. Much of the food distributed came from the Food Bank's spring collection drive - a true grassroots effort.

Thank you to all our volunteers, donors, young students, vigilantes, the Ashtown Charity Centre and all participants!
