1,000 meals a day—in the freezing cold and wind in Turkey

Yasam icin Yemek Dernegi – Food for Life Foundation. Last year we learned it in Ukrainian and Russian; this year, in Turkish. Challenges and disasters don’t discriminate—they can strike anywhere…

More than 1,000 meals are prepared daily at the “Food for Life” field kitchen in Turkey, in the earthquake-stricken Hatay region, for the desperate residents there, where Turkish and Hungarian Krishna devotees are working together to distribute food. More and more people are coming for fresh, hot meals, as the region has neither running water nor electricity, and basic amenities are currently unavailable.

It was very cold again last night, and a freezing wind is blowing right now. Please send us your blessings and prayers so that any obstacles in the way of our food distribution mission may be removed. These guys aren’t made of that kind of wood, though—they certainly won’t give up. 😉

We'll be back soon with more photos and information.
