Our food distribution team has returned from Antakya, Turkey, where they distributed more than 1,000 meals a day in the region hardest hit by the earthquake. According to a report by Attila Szanyi-Karl, the foundation’s president, Turkey faces a huge challenge, as the ongoing aftershocks will make it very difficult to rebuild the region. One night during their stay, they experienced a 5.1-magnitude earthquake. The team was relieved at the distribution point by their Turkish colleagues from DSV, as Food for Life’s stated goal is to professionally organize food distribution and maintain it at the necessary locations for an extended period of time.
Shortly after their departure, an earthquake measuring 6.4 on the Richter scale struck Hatay Province once again. In the garden, around the stove where they used to warm themselves and sleep every day, further destruction occurred: brick debris rained down and more houses collapsed. Therefore, we humbly ask that you keep the local residents in your prayers!
If you'd like to continue supporting our future initiatives, here's how:
-> the www.karitativ.hu across the page, in a notice labeled „Turkey”
-> or directly through the website of the Food for Life Foundation in Turkey: https://www.yasamicinyemek.org/en
Don’t forget about the 2×1% offer, since it won’t cost you anything extra, but it’s a huge help to the work of Food for Life and the Krishna Temple.
