We received 21 metric tons (!) of potatoes from the Óbuda-Békásmegyer Municipal Government. <3 This generous donation arrived last week, and it’s simply wonderful because potatoes are an excellent cooking ingredient—we can use them as a base or to enrich a wide variety of hearty, warm dishes. 1,300 kg of food in Békéscsaba and the most grateful guests
We kicked off fall in Békéscsaba with a truly large-scale initiative. Local volunteers from the „Like a Bite of Bread” program put together 100 packages, which allowed us to help a total of 300 people. The „Like a Bite of Bread” program has another huge event under its belt. We welcomed our guests in the Mezőszemere-Szihalom area with 650 servings of hot lunch, including cabbage stew and fresh baked goods. In addition, the packages included gifts such as sugar, milk, fruit juice, popcorn, granola bars, and Gauranga chocolate cookies. We were able to hold the food distribution in the courtyard of a local preschool, and our guests had been eagerly awaiting it. On Wednesday, June 20, we visited Lyukóvölgy in Miskolc. This was the second time we organized a distribution of hot meals and non-perishable food in collaboration with the Hungarian Maltese Charity Service. Once again, the day was filled with a wonderful atmosphere, and the local volunteers were already waiting for us, fully prepared.
