The Auchan store in Solymár is also joining us in our food drive!

We participate in food rescue not just occasionally, but on a daily basis. The latest store to join us as a partner is the Auchan in Solymár. From now on, three times a week, we’ll collect vegetables, fruits, and baked goods that are still edible and in good condition and deliver them to our food distribution centers. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all participating parties, including the Hungarian Food Bank Association, for this unparalleled […]

Long-lasting help to go with a fresh lunch

Did you know? It’s estimated that about one-third of the food produced worldwide is constantly being thrown away. In Hungary alone, we throw away 400,000 metric tons of food every year, while many families don’t have enough healthy food on their tables. We are fully committed to participating in domestic food rescue efforts, thanks to the Hungarian Food Bank Association. The food saved through them will be delivered to our Eger Office as part of our food distribution mission […]

The Art of Giving

In Vedic Indian culture, giving is much more than simply giving money; it is the art of artha—prosperity, stewardship, and nourishment. Traditionally, giving and receiving gifts have been an expression of love among the faithful and among people in general. Ancient Indian society was structured so that working families, merchants, farmers, leaders, warriors, and teachers provided for the […]

ADHAT – ADJUKÖSSZE.hu Report 2020

On June 29, 2012, our foundation signed a contract with the Nonprofit Information and Education Center (NIOK), at which time we joined the Adhat Vonal program, through which—as in previous years—we have continued to assist those in need throughout the country by distributing free meals. The Adhat Vonal (adhatvonal.hu) donation platform has changed, and a new site, adjukössze.hu, has taken its place. […]

Here's How We Protested in Debrecen (Video)

The Debrecen-based “Food for Life” organization held a special food distribution event back in April. They distributed not only a delicious hot lunch but also packages of non-perishable food to local families in need. In this way, they hosted 120 people in a pleasant atmosphere. The packages contained staple foods such as oil, sugar, margarine, and breadcrumbs, as well as treats like tea, popcorn, and instant soup. Our work is easiest right now, in May […]

Large-scale operation in Békéscsaba

We held another large-scale food distribution in Békéscsaba. We helped 280 people through this program, more than half of whom were children! As part of the event, we distributed 100 food packages, each weighing 10 kg, to the recipients. The families were very grateful to receive the food packages. Most families will be able to cook meals for weeks using the food they just received. Among our guests were students from the local special education school and […]

Thousands of meals in rural areas—help is right where it’s needed most!

This was our first time visiting two small villages, Varbo and Parasznya, with our food distribution program called „Like a Bite of Bread.” To comply with pandemic safety measures, we distributed pre-portioned meals from our car, which allowed us to avoid crowds gathering in one place. Thanks to diligent organization in both villages, we served a total of 330 people a delicious, hot lunch, as well as non-perishable food items […]

A level of poverty we cannot even imagine

On the last day of March, we visited Lyukóvölgy, a small village near Miskolc. We delivered hot meals, bread, assorted vegetables, rice, dried pasta, canned goods, cookies, non-alcoholic soft drinks, and chocolate milk to 70 families, totaling 349 people. Organized jointly with the Hungarian Maltese Charity Service, this food distribution was specifically intended for people living in segregated communities. Lyukóvölgy is the site of a former coal mine, which now provides a home for one of the poorest segments of the population in the country […]

Coordinated Action in Tapolca and Veszprém

At the end of March, our rural food distribution program, „Like a Bite of Bread,” visited Veszprém and Tapolca. This time, we welcomed our guests with a hot lunch and fresh baked goods.
