Nutrition is a basic necessity and a fundamental right for every living person, and the healthy, nutritious, vegetarian meals we prepare and serve not only meet the nutritional needs of families, the elderly, etc., but also enable households struggling with financial difficulties to save money. Year after year, we provide more and more meals […]

Our „Like a Bite of Bread” program is in full swing again this year
In early March, we visited Tardon and Szomolyán, where we once again provided assistance to more than 260 people. The program was made possible through a true collaborative effort: in Tardon, the village residents helped with food distribution, while in Szomolyán, the local neighborhood watch assisted. Special thanks to the mayors of these villages, who consistently support our work! The menu: Along with the kale stew, we provided bread, rice, pasta, sugar, flour, cookies, and potatoes […]

Christmas Charity Banquet – We Brought Smiles to the Faces of Thousands of People
This year’s Christmas food distribution turned out quite differently from what we’ve come to expect over the past 30 years. We didn’t spend the holidays at Blaha Square, but even so, over the course of three weeks, we distributed a total of 6,500 hot meals and food packages—with much more planning, coordination, and safety measures. We began the campaign at distribution points in the capital and its districts and concluded it in Debrecen. […]

Please remember that we are still working—we are currently delivering hot meals and care packages to shelters for the homeless to make their lives a little better […]
This Christmas is different, but even more important—we’re helping 6,500 people
Two weeks ago, the National Christmas Feast of Love organized by Krishna-conscious devotees began—that is, our most important annual project at Food for Life. Our goal is to reach as many people in need as possible through food distributions, while avoiding large crowds as much as possible; so this year, instead of the large-scale event at Blaha Lujza Square, we are distributing meals and food donations to smaller groups at various locations and at different times. Nationwide, a total of […]
Holiday food distributions in Somogy County
Our traditional series of holiday food distributions, the National Christmas Charity Feast, will take place again this year. We will also be serving those in need in Somogy County. Although the usual large-scale events—such as the Christmas Charity Feast at Blaha Lujza Square—have been canceled this year due to the pandemic, instead, we’ll be providing assistance at multiple locations—serving smaller groups at a time—but distributing approximately 6,500 food packages and hot lunches nationwide to help […]
We put together 500 packages from your donations!
Last weekend, we began putting together packages of non-perishable food items for families, using supplies collected from the two department stores. Each package contained basic food items: oil, sugar, flour, rice, pasta, canned goods, long-life milk, etc. And, of course, lots and lots of treats for the kids. The 500 packages—each weighing more than five kilograms—were first distributed through our distribution center in the 7th district and […]
