10,000 masks and increased portion sizes at our food distributions

As part of our “Food for Life” program, we will be distributing 10,000 protective masks across the country in the coming weeks. Our primary goal is to support those in need with these washable masks, but we will also provide them to law enforcement personnel and hospital workers as needed. Demand for hot meals has increased nationwide, and even healthcare workers are now receiving daily meals. In addition to the […]

Daily food distributions continue!

The “Food for Life” program of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness considers it its humanitarian duty to continue its daily food distributions even during this pandemic emergency. Food is prepared under enhanced sanitation protocols, while food distribution is carried out with heightened caution and in compliance with standard hygiene guidelines. We continue to deliver meals six days a week to the Budapest […] organization serving homeless people.

Our daily food distributions will continue as usual; the special food distribution has been canceled

We would like to inform you that, in light of the Hungarian government’s ban on outdoor events with more than 500 people—and in order to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus—the Spring Food Distribution scheduled for April 4 has been canceled. Our guests can continue to count on our daily food distributions until further notice. Thank you for your understanding, and we wish you good health! Hare Kṛṣṇa!

We provided assistance in villages around Szeged

How did the volunteers of the „Like a Bite of Bread” program spend Valentine’s Day? We invited families in need from villages around Szeged to a lovely afternoon event and food distribution. We held the event at the Ruzsa Cultural Center, where we treated the guests to pizza, fruit, and sweets. Students from the local school prepared a carnival performance for the food distribution, and we provided the generous […]

THE SAME ONES – Eszter Varga’s photo series and auction featuring people living without shelter

Yesterday, we were invited to the opening of a special exhibition at Barabás Villa, titled „THE SAME.” Eszter Varga’s paintings draw attention to a very important social issue: the hopeless situation of people living without shelter and the deep emotions they experience. Eszter is actually a biology student who will soon graduate, but her passion is painting, and the explicit goal of her art is to address various […]

Starting in January 2020, we’ll be continuing our daily, nationwide activities at full speed!

Our Food for Life Foundation spent the holidays in the square for the 30th time during Christmas 2019. The Krishna devotees who began this mission in our country set a fine example, and we are continuing their diligent work and efforts in accordance with our goals. And the goal is for all our fellow human beings to have not just a sufficient quantity, but also an adequate quality of […]

„Like a Bite of Bread” Concluded Its Advent Campaigns in Nagykanizsa”

The Advent series of events for the „Like a Bite of Bread” program has reached its final stop. In Nagykanizsa, 200 people were hosted for the holidays. Recipients at the Maltese Charity Service’s temporary family shelter, a homeless shelter, and several large families with many children received assistance. We wanted to make the last weekend before Christmas a festive one for everyone. That’s why, in addition to the non-perishable food packages, we included small gifts and treats […]

Christmas Feast of Love – You can make the world a better place with a small gesture!

Our “Food for Life” Foundation’s Advent food distribution series is reaching its climax, and, as in past decades, the program will culminate in the capital. This year, from December 24–26, the three-day Christmas Feast of Love will take place—exceptionally—not at Blaha Lujza Square but at NÉPLIGET, next to the Planetarium, where more than a thousand servings of hot lunch and the same number of non-perishable […]

Christmas Food Distribution in Eger

During the Advent season, we are organizing holiday food distributions at 14 locations outside the capital, including Eger. During the Christmas event held on December 21, 400 needy residents of Eger will receive food assistance, including hot one-dish meals, fresh bread, non-perishable food packages (containing rice, oil, flour, and sugar), dairy products, sweets, and baked goods. Students from Károly Eszterházy University in Eger—who have themselves benefited from the foundation’s support in the past—will also assist with the distribution. Their goal is to give back to the organization and to experience the joy of giving after having themselves experienced what it is like to live in deprivation.
