People of Győr for the People of Győr
Thanks to the generosity of several local business owners, 17 families facing hardship in the city of Győr received our support. Thanks to an initiative by a Győr-based entrepreneur, we were able to bring smiles to the faces of 17 families in need in Győr on August 22. Each family received a 13-kg package of non-perishable food items from our volunteers. The packages contained flour, rice, sugar, oil, pasta, potatoes, apples, cornflakes, chocolate, and cookies. Of course, not […]
Letters from Summer Camps
Over the course of the summer, we supported several children’s camps with food donations, helping young people from disadvantaged backgrounds enjoy a meaningful summer. We received heartwarming reports from the organizers, and we’re sharing a few brief excerpts and photos from them here. Kartali Children’s Camp I cannot thank you enough, on behalf of myself and the children, for your help, which greatly contributed to the success of our week-long camp. Thanks to your help, they were able to receive the […]
Food in the Rain – SUN Festival
Day after day, passersby near the Krishna tent at the SUN Festival were greeted by the sight of long lines. Our foundation was also represented at youth festivals this summer, distributing hundreds of meals. Various youth events provide an excellent opportunity to carry out our main mission: food distribution. In addition to EFOTT and OZORA, we were also present this year at the increasingly popular SUN Festival, […]
Support for Summer Camps
With the end of the school year, many children face the problem of where to get their next meal. Our foundation supports summer camps across the country with food donations, providing children in need with meaningful activities. One such opportunity is offered at a kobudo martial arts training camp, now in its 27th year, where 40 disadvantaged children are among the regular campers. We provide participants with a hot lunch, bread and yogurt, or fruit. The Japanese […]
Hungarians in the Disaster-Stricken Balkans
Over the course of two weeks, the four-member Hungarian relief team, working alongside Krishna devotees in Bosnia, distributed 6,000 meals. Our church has turned its deep sympathy for the victims of the natural disasters that struck Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia into action. We consider it our duty to be ready to help not only our fellow human beings in our own country or immediate surroundings, but also, as needed, those living in neighboring or more distant countries. […]
A team of four is heading to Bosnia to distribute food during the floods—please support our campaign!
The region of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia was struck last week by natural chaos on a scale not seen in 150 years. We feel it is our most fundamental human duty to help our fellow human beings in the midst of this extraordinary chaos. In recent years, we have already participated in numerous disaster relief efforts; in Sri Lanka, Haiti, and the Philippines, we distributed food to victims who had literally lost everything. In Hungary, we responded to the red sludge disaster in Devecser and the disaster in Felsőzsolca […]
Tax 1%
Dear Friend! All citizens are required to mail their tax returns by the May 20 deadline. The documentation includes two 1% beneficiary declarations: on one, the taxpayer may enter the tax ID number of a nonprofit organization, and on the other, the technical number of a church or a priority budget line item. All of this offers a wonderful opportunity for all of us to express our support for an important social cause […]
Large-scale food distribution for Easter
On April 19, during the Easter weekend, we are once again organizing a special food distribution at Blaha Lujza Square for all those for whom the holidays are a time of hardship. Once again, the focus will be on children. We expect 1,300 people to join us at Blaha Lujza Square at noon on April 19 for a bowl of hot cholent, bread, lemonade, and a gift package of non-perishable food items. The food aid package makes it possible to […]
Parcel Delivery to Small Towns
Starting in 2014, instead of sending packages, we have been providing on-site delivery to residents of “3h” communities—that is, communities facing multiple disadvantages. Our volunteers have helped hundreds of thousands of people over the past decades, not only at soup kitchens but also in disaster-stricken areas and in the homes of people requiring special care. Expanding on our package delivery service launched in 2010, this year we will no longer mail out aid packages but will instead deliver them in person […]
Gyermekétkeztetés és rajzpályázat Pécsett
Pécsett működő telephelyünk egyedülálló program keretében támogatja a helyi rászoruló gyermekeket és családokat. Amellett, hogy minden hónapban tartós élelmiszercsomagokkal lepi meg a pécsi iskolák nehéz helyzetben élő tanulóit, most egy rajzpályázattal is igyekszik inspirálni őket. Pécsi központunk tevékenységét egy széles támogatói kör tartja életben, akik kisösszegű, ám rendszeres támogatásukkal előre kiszámíthatóvá teszik a program munkatársainak […]
